Say what you will about this walking anal cyst, he is a professional broadcaster. He knows EXACTLY how far he can go before he commits a federal crime, and he waddles up to the line every damn day.
Like his call for RIOTS in Denver this week… YES, he DID say it. Then he pulled back and let the raving responses seem like ‘crazy talk.’ This from a guy who is profitting from the sales of t-shirts and hats calling for “OPERATION CHAOS.” A DIRECT call for people to DISRUPT the function of a democracy. He knows EXACTLY how far he can go.
When rational Americans rise up and say this guy is ‘inciting rioting,’ he knows that the temporal distance will save his cystic ass! Rush can say it in April, if the riots occur in August, he’s NOT responsible.
Here is Rush manipulating one of his Dittoheads into speaking for him:
CALLER: I know the Drive-Bys are gonna start coming after you about your “dreaming of riots” in Denver, and they’ve already started in the Denver papers. But it’s kind of strange that the Denver police and fire departments are already doing training for crowd control and they’re bringing in police officers from outlying suburbs to supplement the Denver Police Department, and they’ve already been advised that they have 750 so far and they’re going to need another few thousand for the convention.
RUSH: Right. And this is all because I am “dreaming of riots.”
CALLER: There you go, and they’ve also put the Colorado National Guard on a 24-hour alert for the thing, so…
RUSH: It sounds like a paramilitary operation out there being prepared here to deal with –
CALLER: No riots.
RUSH: — raucous protesters at the Democrat National Convention in Denver.
CALLER: Yeah, it’s just really strange that the –
RUSH: Isn’t that funny? Isn’t that amazing?

Rush is a terrorist. I’m not sure what your saying about the manipulation of callers, though, because I don’t think his audience is sophisticated enough to understand anything he says. But the bottom line is that Rush and those like him, take advantage of freedom of speech by generating terrorist propaganda.
Obviously, radio channels that air him have no sense of ethics or morality, they are just concerned about making money. So, the only way to get Rush off the air is to create popular shows even more unsophisticated than his. This is a problem, because there are few people who are able to think in such a primal manner.
People in media are the best adapt at thinking primally. But at that point they become Republicans who literally care about nothing but themselves. Is it possible to think primally AND care about anyone else? If so, and a radio show is able to make Rush obsolete, I think that this Republican disease can be cured.

DJ: I agree… The real war for hearts and minds is in radio. TV/cable is a wasteland, but there are plenty of old AM stations that could make a buck with ‘progressive talk.’ If you can get a small FM in a market, all the better… I’m working on this right now…
I agree that most Rush callers are not the sharpest darts, and that’s WHY Rush can basically make them say what he wants… I think Rush is pond scum, but you gotta give him the fact that he’s a propaganda pro…
